Something on your bucket list…

Live overseas

Buy an island

Can’t live without make up/beauty products…

I’m not really a make up/beauty fanatic – it’s work for me! But my makeup artist turned me on to Mac lipstick which couples as blush, so voila! Anything that saves me time is a winner in my books.

A strength of mine…

I’m a realist. I don’t try to be anything I’m not. I accept that life is crazy and unbalanced for me most of the time. Letting go of feeling guilty is one of the most liberating feelings, and it frees your mind up for so much more.

I always avoid…

Drama – I don’t have time for it.

Fav Insta/Twitter account you follow?

@businesschicks of course!

What advice would you tell your 18 year old self…

It’s not going to get easier. Everyday you will be pushed and challenged, so don’t wait for a day when it’s all done and easy. That’s not business. You’ll be ever-evolving.

Recipe for success – Your 3 main ingredients?

Resilience – getting up more times than you fall

Optimism – living as though everything is rigged in your favour

Your personal indulgence or obsession?

Lychee martinis and massages (not necessarily together)

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?

It doesn’t matter how much you earn. It’s what you do with it that counts. My grandfather taught me that. Financial independence is so important to me, and it’s something I encourage all women to work on. I see too many women stick their heads in the sand when it comes to money – it’s not scary if you educate yourself and work hard. I bought my first property when I was 19 and started my first business at 18 and haven’t looked back.

Your game changing moment?

The night we finished the week launching Business Chicks in the US – it hit me that we’d not only done it, but that we’d absolutely smashed it! We had a cocktail party to celebrate at Crosby Street Hotel in Soho in New York and then we headed to Necker Island the next day to host a group of Business Chicks premium members there, so it was a big week all up!

Books on your nightstand?

Brené Brown’s Rising Strong and the Very Hungry Caterpillar (I have four ankle biters aged six and under).

Biggest myth about success busted…

That it’s a certain moment or point you reach. Life is about the chase and enjoying every minute. Success looks different to everyone, but even when I reach one goal, there are infinitely more. Give up the notion that you’re trying to get somewhere and just try be happy here and now!

A secret about my journey to share…

I’m addicted to it. I’m not happy unless I’m working or creating something new. My journey has been crazy, intense and exhausting, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
